let me first say… i did not want to get my engagement ring at a store in the mall! i knew i wanted to get a halo setting and my boyfriend and i shopped around in robbins brothers and downtown la to widen our options, only to confuse ourselves more. it’s a ring! you fall in love with it, you get it, then that’s it… right? we learned about the quality of diamonds, what they’re worth, how to buy them, the quality of the setting Pearl jewelry, the style that looks good on your finger, blah, blah. in the end, i couldn’t make my mind up anymore about what style of ring to buy. after months of searching without finding that one ring, i started thinking i might want another style, maybe a ruby or sapphire instead of a diamond… frustrating. after a pre-valentine’s weekend in la jolla, my boyfriend and i went to glendale galleria to exchange some purchases at another store. for kicks and giggles, we decided to hit up the jewelry stores so i can make sure that halo settings are really what i want. we went to ben bridge, realized that i do love halo settings, but didn’t find one there. we went to helzberg, and i started trying on the halo settings. this beautiful girl named violet pulls out this halo from scott kay, and i absolutely did not want to take it off. i wanted to take it home even with the cz on. next thing you know, my boyfriend started talking to a lovely man named vic about diamonds and how they’re going to put the whole thing together. violet took care of my boyfriend when it came to finances, and she made sure he understood where his money is going. they explained to us about their lifetime warranty and what we can do when i want to upgrade the diamond. yes i said WHEN, not IF. what really got our full attention is that they’re going to take care of this ring for us. one of our concerns about going to a mom-and-pop store is if the place is trustworthy. can we take the ring there in the future in case it gets damaged? are they still going to be standing years from now? helzberg has been around since 1915, and now owned by warren buffet, so they’re going to be around for a while. violet and vic showed us the laser imprinted id on the diamond we picked out and had us make sure ourselves that it matches the one on the certificate. before we left the store, i had to give violet a hug because she really took care of us. as we walked towards the car, i found myself crying tears of joy that we finally got my ring. in the end, it doesn’t matter where you get the ring. it’s really the one you fall in love with. my boyfriend just picked up the ring yesterday. he said they took a microscope and showed the laser imprinted id to him, making sure that’s our diamond on the ring. i just can’t wait until he puts it on my finger!
3.5The service here is great and the people are very knowledgeable and patient. ?However, their selections are not as extensive as the places in the jewelry district, but for the mall, I believe they had the best prices and rings and loose diamond selection in the Pasadena/Glendale area. ?The settings they had ranged from modern, to classic, to stylish and to unique.That day, BH and I went to Ben Bridge, Zales, and Romano’s, and at the Arcadia mall, I went to Zales, Ben Bridge, Daniels, Lily’s, and Kevin’s Jewelers. Overall, if I were to buy from a mall store (and I wouldn’t, not my engagement ring at least), I would buy from Helzberg. ?Their cushion cut halo diamond settings are stunning, especially the one I saw in the radiant star collection (IGI certified). ?The clarity of the diamond was low – an I2 or I3 even, and you could see the inclusions upon close inspection, but because of the extra facets cut into the diamond, it shone and sparkled brilliantly on my finger (I’m sure the spotlighting helped a lot). A one carat center radiant star cushion in a halo setting was around 7k and the 3/4 carat center was 6k. ?Not bad.The Helzberg Diamond masterpiece is more expensive (GIA certificate) – the cuts are ideal and the color and clarity grades are higher than the radiant star collection. ?Therefore, the diamonds ran a premium – the 1.5 round we saw was well over the price we matched on Blue Nile; close to $4k more. Their warranty is one of the best – I mean, all of the mall stores have wonderful warranties, but because you pay so much more for the loose diamonds and for the settings, you better get a good one fashion jewelry!

This place has been in business for over 20 years. ? The owner is GIA certified and was a diamond grader for many years before. ?What does this mean to me? ?It means that I was able to get a Cartier engagement inspire ring for almost half the price. After discussing with the owner CZ Jewelry, it was explained to me that the quality of the diamond exceeded the minimum requirement for Cartier. ?My fiance loves it!!!!! ?If you want to have a custom ring made then this place is the place to be.
I have never actually been here Stainless Steel Necklaces, nor have I ever walked in. I have only seen it while waiting in line for HondaYa everytime I am in the ghetto and depressing looking Little Tokyo Shopping Center.So why the 5 stars?The name is POOM GEMS. enough said.

My review is from their travelling “Roadshow” and I have to say that I’m very happy I attended their Burlingame event. ?I had no idea what to expect. The setting was nice, they are very cordial and well organized. I didn’t wait very long for my turn to be seen by an appraiser and I think they offered very fair prices. The appraisals are done in a seperate more private room and that was nice too. I’m sure they offer more than many other outfits. ?I have to say that Malcolm was very nice to deal with and he was clearly the guru there (as younger appraisers came to him for occaisional advice). ?It was a nice surprise and they offered me fair money for my items. I’d say… give them a try.
I’ve been here a few times to buy gold coins. ?I’ve never experienced poor service (but I’m the only one in the place when I’ve gone), but I wonder why they advertise accepting credit cards on the front door when they actually don’t accept ccd’s for payment.
Their selection is great but their attitude has been terrible so far. Maybe another person who’s not so impatient could help me next time. It’s still a good place to get the job done though, if you don’t mind a possible bad experience.*Update: Their customer service has improved! I’ll be coming back more often now.*

My family has been doing business with this place for over 20 years, since it was at its previous location and I have only heard great things. Recently, my grandmother gave me a Rolex that use to be my grandfathers. It needed two additional links and a cleaning. I was told to take it Craig Evan Small. I love watches and know quite a bit about Rolex’s, but I still wanted to learn as much as I can. I took the watch there and they told me all about it and then they ordered me two links and wounded the watch. I went in on Saturday and I got the watch back on Wednesday, which was very quick. The two links were $100, which for a Rolex is a decent price. I was not aware that Rolex’s have a sort of electrical current that runs through it, so if you do not wear it, it starts losing time. That was also explained to me. I have not boughten anything from here but I did look around and the prices were very comparable and it is always nice to give your money to a local place rather then a department store or some equivalent. My friend is looking for an engagement ring so we went hunting to several shops for a vintage ring. I decided to Google for shops in West Hollywood and this was the first one on the list.I’m so glad we went there Jennifer was so patient and knowledgeable making the task of getting information for my friend’s boyfriend so easy and painless.Thank you for treating my friend with such respect and kindness… (I hope she gets the ring we saw there).
I put my husband to the challenge during the engagement ring shopping–I showed him a few antique rings I liked and told him he couldn’t buy me any of those. I wanted to push him to find me something from his heart, something he could feel proud choosing himself. I also liked watching him get nervous. Ha! ?Luckily, he found the perfect ring at Craig Evan Small. He told them what he had in mind for me, and they instinctively knew he was seeking something unique with a beautiful setting. Jennifer recommended a ring that had just come in. In fact, it hadn’t even been added to their inventory yet! It turned out to be the perfect ring. The next time we were in L.A., we went in to have the ring resized, and Craig, who has the sharpest eyes ever, noticed that my Rolex had a small chip on the crystal face. He offered to fix and clean my watch for a low fee, and they shipped both the ring and watch back to me in New York for free. ?The watch, which was my mom’s in the 1980s, looked like new, and the ring has received endless compliments. Even my mom loves it, and she’s definitely a hard one to please.

Located in the Antiquarius Jewelry Mall on Beverly, this shop deals in fine estate and antique jewelry and watches. ?They have a pretty big (relative to many places) selection of gorgeous antique engagement rings and the on-site gemologist, Jennifer, is very helpful and friendly. ?Give them (and the Antiquarius Mall) a shot if you’re hunting for something shiny and old.
I’ve been looking for an estate/vintage jewelry store to trust for years and finally found a wonderful one — ?Craig Evan Small. To try them out I brought in a dainty old diamond band ring for sizing, a little worried about what would happen to the tiny back of the ring. ?Jennifer was fantastic! ?She made me feel comfortable right away and said very nice things about my ring. ?Since I brought it in close to the New Year she said it would take a little longer than usual — which still only meant a week of waiting. ?She called me as soon as it arrived and when I picked it up I was thrilled. ?The ring was so much more beautiful than when I brought it in! ?Their jeweler cleaned and polished it up like new (quite a feat for a 150 year old ring). ?The sizing job was perfect, just seamless Stainless Steel Bracelets, and I can’t recommend them enough. ?And the cost was beyond reasonable too — just $30.I also took a look at many of their beautiful offerings, and to a vintage or antique jewelry lover this place is like heaven. ?The prices are a bit steep, but that’s what you’d expect from a store of this caliber and address. ?Still, if you’re looking for a vintage engagement ring, watch or any piece of really special and unique jewelry, this is a wonderful place to at least start, and maybe pick up just what you always wanted…or never even knew you wanted.

Troy is great. He has a shop in Irvine with great displays, but I went to his downtown LA showroom. Loved the selection! I went to 5 other dealers that were referred by friends, but they were all a waste of time. Please go see him Sterling Silver Earrings, I would have really regretted not seeing his selection. I couldn’t have imagined how beautiful the ring turned out. She absolutely loved it! I left happy, and i will go back for ALL my future diamond purchases.

I often eat out in the Westchester area and I happened to pass by Runa Jewels during lunch today. ?I just so happened to need a new battery for my watch and saw the sign in front of this establishment. ? ?Note: I normally get my watches repaired and batteries changed at a specialty shop about 3 doors down, but I decided to give this place a try because the shop looked kinda rustic.I walked into the store, and a lady with a wonderful ?Jamaican / South African accent greeted me, “HELLO Sterling Silver Pendants! ?Thank you for coming in! ?How can I help you?”. ? I was hooked at hello! ?The shop owner, Marie Omoruyi, asked how she could help me. ?I showed her my watch and told her I needed a new battery. ?She said in her cute little voice, “Nooo problem! ?Give me a minute or two!”. ?Before she dissapeared, I asked her how much. ?She said, “$7 because this is a dress watch”. ? ? *POOF* she was gone in the back of the store and in about 3 minutes, she was back!I handed Marie a $20 bill and she said, “$5.00 please”. ? I said, ‘WHAT?! ? You said $7.00″. ? She responded with, “I like you (as a customer) and it was an easy job… no problem!”. ?I told her that she needs to make a fair buck and I insisted she take $7 for the new battery. ?
